Another Day Behind the Camera

Another Day Behind the Camera

The first two chess calendars were ready, but—surprise, surprise—I realized that some of the sets in Simon’s collection had been left out. There was no way around it; another photo shoot had to be scheduled.

So, it was back to work: a new day, new settings, new backgrounds, and another 30 chess sets to capture. The creative challenge was to maintain a good variety in the final results. After a few more nights of editing, voilà—three additional calendars were designed and completed. Both Mr. Simon and I were thrilled with the outcome.

You might know that the 24th Chess Olympiad was held in Budapest this September. Originally, Mr. Simon had planned to showcase his chess collection in an exhibition during the event. Unfortunately, the exhibition couldn’t take place, but I was glad to help him represent his collection in another way—through these chess calendars. He brought them with him to Hungary while visiting the games. What a journey it’s been!

To be continued…
