Photos on Google - Wadjemup Lighthouse

A milestone indeed! Did you know that anyone can upload and share photos on Google Maps? It's a simple process—just visit a place, capture a shot with your camera or phone, and upload it. The uploaded photos play a crucial role in helping others visualize the view, understand the size of buildings, and see how a location appears in different lighting conditions.
I started uploading photos about 6-7 years ago, without any specific plan. Whenever Google prompted me to share a photo from a well-known place, I would contribute.
2 years ago we visited Rottnest Island in Western Australia. It is a tiny island with a lot of beautiful bays, unique animals like the friendly quokkas. You maybe aware I love lighthouses and this island has 2 nice ones.
I seized the opportunity to take a photo on Wadjemup lighthouse and later uploaded it.
While I'm not familiar with Google's algorithm, my photos ended up being featured and became the main photo for the lighthouse. Today, I'm thrilled to announce that my photo have collectively garnered an impressive 1.5 MILLION views! I never envisioned this outcome, and it still feels surreal, but it fills me with pride.
I loved this place earlier, that is the reason I added this photo to my lighthouse calendar. You can also find other photos from Rottnest in my Western Australia wall calendar. You can find the links bellow.
